SUMMARY:ARE/CSE Statewide Study Hub: Construction & Evaluation (CE)
DESCRIPTION:Study Hub is AIA California”™s pathway for emerging professionals to study and pursue licensure. These statewide ARE study sessions and virtual study groups serve as a hub for education\, connection\, and community. This portal does not replace other study materials or resources\, rather it supplements them\, serving as a network and allowing for collaboration between EPs and AIA professionals across California. \nThis year\, we’re streamlining your study experience by grouping commonly paired exams together. \nConstruction & Evaluation (CE) focuses on construction contract administration and post-occupancy evaluation of projects. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of and abilities in construction contract execution\, construction support services (including construction observation and shop drawing or submittal review)\, payment request processing\, and project closeout. In addition\, candidates must also demonstrate an understanding and abilities in project evaluation of integrated building systems and their performance. \nHost: TBA \nInterested in joining our hub where you can ask questions\, connect with other members and access resources? Click here \nPlease make sure you registered for the correct session by using the dropdown in the zoom registration page to select the date you wish to register for. By default it will show the immediate upcoming session first.Â

SUMMARY:Fire Response Session 6 | Legal Protections: Minimizing Exposure in Disaster Relief Work
DESCRIPTION:Scroll down to watch the video.\nThis session qualifies for 1 LU/HSW (live webinar attendees only). \nFREE registration for this webinar will close at 12pm PT on Tuesday\, June 17\, 2025. \nThe AIA in CALIFORNIA is responding to the recent southern California fires with a unified plan for response\, recovery and rebuilding for communities that were devastated by the disaster. This series of sessions will help the architectural profession understand the rapidly changing landscape\, the local issues facing communities\, and strategies for resilient design and disaster response; the AIA in California is connecting policy makers\, government officials\, and practitioners uniting architects in building a more just\, equitable\, and resilient future. \nIn response to the devastating recent fires in the Los Angeles region\, Architects across California have stepped forward to support the rebuilding process through volunteer and pro bono work. As these efforts grow\, so does the importance of understanding the legal and ethical responsibilities that come with them. This webinar\, a joint initiative by AIA Pasadena & Foothill and AIA California\, is designed to address the professional liability risks and obligations Architects face when providing voluntary services after a disaster. \nThis webinar will provide insight into how the standard of care is interpreted in non-traditional service arrangements\, along with key considerations related to self-certification practices in post-disaster recovery projects. This session is intended to offer essential information for protecting architects and their firm while delivering effective support to affected communities. \nModerator:\n\nAlex Atheson | Co-Founder\, President at The Foothill Catalog Foundation\n\nSpeakers:\n\nBrian K. Stewart | Attorney\, Collins + Collins LLP\nMark H. Savel\, AIA | savel Architects\nMichael Sganga | Enforcement Analyst\, California Architects Board\nJulia Donoho\, AIA\, Esq. | Architect and Attorney at Law\, Legal Constructs
