This session explores how the National Latinx Architects Coalition (NLAC) is driving leadership, advocacy, and representation within the architectural profession through collaboration between AIA Knowledge Communities and allied organizations. Building on AIA California’s core priorities—leadership, equity, advocacy, and chapter strengthening—the session features a balanced panel of AIA community leaders and external partners who will share replicable, case-based models of impact. Attendees will gain insight into successful initiatives such as LiA SF’s “How to Start a LiA” guide and its national influence, Arquitectos’ mentorship and outreach frameworks, LA.IDEA’s community-based programs in Washington, D.C., and the Immigrant Architects Coalition’s advocacy and leadership work. Additionally, the discussion will highlight NLAC’s collaborative programming at AIA National Conferences since 2023, offering practical strategies to strengthen chapters and foster inclusive leadership across the profession.
